Naturopathy for men in Laval

An hour sitting down, on what your days are actually doing to your body. Food, sleep, stress, energy. Nothing to buy on the way out.

TYPE OF SERVICE

Lifestyle habit support. No diagnosis, no treatment.

What is naturopathy

As practised here, it is support around your habits. Nothing more, and that is already plenty.

We do not start from a symptom to silence. We start from a picture: what an ordinary day looks like for you, from waking to bed, what you have already tried, what lasted three weeks and what lasted three days.

Laura is a naturopath, RITMA member 6797, trained for a year at the Collège de médecine douce du Québec. She is also the one who runs the aesthetic consultations, which is why a number of men discover this service while coming in for something else.

What comes out of the appointment is changes you can actually make. No diet, no protocol, no list of bottles to buy at the counter on your way out.

What concerns a man of thirty-five in particular: you go and see someone for pain, not for tiredness. A knee that clicks sends you to a physiotherapist. Energy that collapses every afternoon for two years sends you nowhere. That gap is exactly what this appointment fills.

Is naturopathy right for you?

The appointment is about what you do with your days, not about a laboratory result.

It is for you if:

  • Your energy collapses at the same hour every day

Two o'clock, four o'clock, always the same dip. You cover it with coffee and you pay for it at night.

  • You eat around your meetings

No breakfast, lunch swallowed at the screen, and all the catching up crammed in after eight. The content is not always the problem, the timing often is.

  • You train and you have stopped progressing

The volume is there, the results are not. When that happens at thirty-eight, sleep and food explain the plateau more often than the programme does.

  • You sleep seven hours and wake up tired

Duration is only part of the story. What happens in the two hours before bed usually says more.

Are you after a diagnosis or a medical explanation?

This appointment cannot give you one, and we would rather say so first. A doctor comes first; naturopathy works alongside, not instead.

Contraindications

A NEW, UNEXPLAINED SYMPTOM

Weight loss you did not go looking for, persistent pain, unusual breathlessness belong to a doctor. Not here, and not first.

AN ILLNESS UNDER MEDICAL CARE

Not a closed door, but nothing that comes out of this appointment replaces or alters your treatment. Your doctor stays at the centre.

AN EATING DISORDER

The subject needs clinical supervision the institute does not provide. We point you elsewhere rather than take you on.

AN EXPECTATION THAT RESULTS WILL BE READ

A blood panel, imaging, a hospital workup are not interpreted here. That is a medical act.

MEDICATION IN PROGRESS

Name it. Some dietary changes interact, and caution outranks suggestion.

An appointment adjusted to your days

Two men do not get the same hour, and three things explain why.

  • A man of about thirty-five with curly hair and a full beard

    YOUR ACTUAL SCHEDULE

A night-shift worker, a man on the road and an office worker do not have the same levers. What works for one is unusable for the other.

  • A facial for men

WHAT YOU ARE WILLING TO CHANGE

Laura prioritises by what you will actually keep. Three changes that hold beat twelve abandoned in ten days, and nobody has ever held twelve.

  • A man's back and shoulders, seen from behind, near a window

    WHAT YOU HAVE ALREADY TRIED

Fasting, cutting carbs, a colleague's diet. Knowing what failed and why is worth as much as knowing what you eat.

The session step by step

One hour at Béa, in order.

  • A massage therapist and a man talking before the session

    1

    Your typical day

Hour by hour, from waking to bed. It is the longest part and the most useful.

  • A man settled face down on the table, a towel smoothed over his lower back

    2

    What you have already tried

What lasted, what did not, and what made you give up.

  • A forearm working deep along a man's upper back

    3

    What stands out

Laura names what she observes, without making a diagnosis. The difference is real and she explains it to you.

  • The therapist's hands resting still on a man's shoulder blades

    4

Two or three changes, in order

The first one first. The others wait until the first one holds.

  • A man sitting up on the table, talking after the massage

    5

    What you take away

Written suggestions. Follow-up is decided with you, or not at all.

Why choose L'Institut Béa

  • NOTHING IS SOLD BEHIND IT

You leave with no bottles and nobody will offer you any. The appointment is the entire service.

  • A RITMA-REGISTERED NATUROPATH

Laura holds number 6797, after a year of training at the Collège de médecine douce du Québec. No professional order governs naturopathy in Quebec, so what she does here stops at daily habits, on purpose.

  • WE SAY WHERE OUR ROLE ENDS

An unexplained symptom belongs to a doctor, and you will hear that here rather than after three appointments.

Common questions

Everything people ask us before a first session, answered plainly.

Am I going to be sold supplements?

No, and that is a firm answer rather than a nuance. Nothing is sold behind this appointment: there is no shelf of bottles at the counter and the service does not depend on one. It is the first thing men ask, because naturopathy carries that reputation and often earns it elsewhere. What you take away is two or three adjustments written on a sheet, and they are free to apply.

Is this medicine?

No, and nobody should be left thinking it is. Laura makes no diagnosis, prescribes nothing, treats no illness and does not read your laboratory results. Those are medical acts, they belong to a doctor, and the label at the top of this page says so for that reason. What naturopathy does is look with you at what your days are doing to your energy, and propose changes of rhythm and habit. It is complementary help; it replaces nothing.

I am forty and tired all the time. Here or a doctor?

A doctor first, and Laura will tell you so herself if you come here first. Settled, unexplained fatigue can have causes that show up in a blood test, thyroid or iron among them, or a genuine sleep disorder. Those do not resolve by moving dinner an hour earlier. This appointment becomes useful once the medical side has been ruled out, or alongside it, when you already know the cause lives in your days and you cannot change your days on your own.

How many appointments does it take?

One, if that is what you want. Plenty of men come once, leave with three things to do and never come back, and that is a perfectly normal outcome. Follow-up becomes useful once you have applied the first change and want the next one, or when something is stuck. Nothing is decided in advance and no series is sold at a first appointment.

Is this for losing weight?

That is not the angle, and it should be said plainly. Nobody here will give you a diet or a number on a scale. That said, when meal timing, sleep and stress change, weight often moves as a consequence, and that is an effect rather than a target. If your request is strictly weight loss with a figure attached, this service will not give you what you are looking for and you will know that within the first hour.

Should I write everything down before coming?

It helps, without being required. If you note what you ate and at what time over three ordinary days, not three exemplary ones, the first part of the appointment goes twice as far. Otherwise Laura will rebuild the day with you, which simply takes more of the hour.
