Scalp microneedling for men in Laval

Hair that looks thicker, right where it started thinning. This treatment helps improve hair strength, volume, scalp health and the look of the crown.

NATURE OF THE TREATMENT

An esthetician's treatment. No injection, no medical procedure.

What is scalp microneedling

A microneedling pen creates microscopic channels in the skin of the scalp, one area at a time.

Through those channels, an exosome serum made from fruit extracts reaches the root instead of sitting on the surface. These are growth agents: they feed the skin around the follicle, where hair is made.

The treatment targets hair that breaks, a crown where the skin shows and hair that is finer than it was five years ago.

After a few sessions, your hair can look thicker, stronger and hold its shape better.

Is scalp microneedling right for you?

This treatment is for the man who still has his hair, just thinner than before, and wants to keep it in better shape.

It is for you if:

  • You spotted your crown in a photo taken from above

That is often how it starts. The treatment works that exact area, section by section.

  • Under ceiling lights, your scalp shows

At the office, in an elevator, on a video call. Thicker strands cover better, with the same number of hairs.

  • Your short hair has lost its hold

It falls flat instead of holding the cut. Stronger hair keeps its shape better.

  • Your hair breaks when you style it

A weakened fibre snaps on the comb and the towel. The treatment helps make it tougher.

Temples receding fast, or balding that keeps going?

Most of the time that is hereditary and hormonal, and a doctor treats it. This treatment does not stop balding: if that is what we see, you will hear it at the first appointment.

Contraindications

DAMAGED SCALP SKIN

A razor nick, sunburn, folliculitis, psoriasis or inflamed dandruff: the session waits until the skin has settled. Microneedles would drag the irritation out.

A RECENT HAIR TRANSPLANT

How long to wait before microneedling is up to the surgeon who did it. Ask them before you book.

A BLOOD THINNER OR ISOTRETINOIN

Both change how the skin bleeds and heals, as does a tendency to keloids. Tell us when you book: these cases are assessed before the session.

AN ALLERGY TO SOY OR GRAPEFRUIT

The serum contains soy protein, grapefruit, watermelon, ginkgo biloba and centella. A known allergy to any of them rules this serum out.

A treatment adjusted to your scalp

The session does not run the same way from one head to the next, for three reasons.

THE AREA THAT IS THINNING
Crown, temples or parting: time goes where your hair has lost thickness.
THE LENGTH OF YOUR HAIR
On a short cut, the pen goes straight to the skin. On longer hair, the esthetician exposes the scalp section by section, which takes a little longer.
THE DEPTH
It is set by area and by what you feel. The temples usually call for less than the top of the head.

The session step by step

One hour, five steps, always in the same order.

  • The esthetician spreading a man's short hair to look at his crown

    1

    The assessment

The esthetician looks at your scalp and hair area by area, and asks how long you have been seeing a difference. The number of sessions is decided here.

  • A man's crown cleansed with a gauze pad, black-gloved hands

    2

    Preparation

The scalp is cleansed. On longer hair, it is combed into sections to expose the skin.

  • The microneedling pen moving across a man's crown

    3

    The microneedling pen

It passes over each area to treat, at the depth chosen during the assessment.

  • A drop of serum from a dropper on the crown, an unlabelled amber vial

    4

    The serum

It is applied to the area the pen has just worked, then massaged in.

    5

    Your instructions

When to wash your hair, and when to go back to the gym, your cap and your styling products.

Frequently asked questions

Everything people ask us before a first session, answered plainly.

Does it sting?

Yes, a little, and that is about it. Most men describe a prickling that moves across the scalp, sharper at the temples and the hairline, duller on top. We do not use numbing cream on the scalp. If an area bothers you, say so: the esthetician lowers the depth there or takes a break, and the session carries on. A lighter pass on the temples does not spoil anything, what matters is coming back on schedule.

How many sessions before it shows?

We recommend a minimum of three sessions, and the difference is measured in months. Hair renews slowly: what you will see is hair that holds better and looks thicker, not a change from one week to the next. The total is set at the first appointment, based on your scalp and how fine your hair is to begin with. To track it honestly, take a photo of the top of your head once a month, in the same spot, under the same light.

Am I too late?

It depends on what is left to work with. The treatment strengthens hair that is there: if it is finer than before but present, there is something to work on. On an area that has been smooth and shiny for years, there is no fibre left to strengthen, and no esthetic treatment will change that. In between, the assessment at the first appointment settles it.

Can I work out the same evening?

Wait until the next day. Sweat, heat and the rub of a cap or toque on skin the microneedles have just opened irritate it for nothing. Same for the sauna, the steam room and a hot bath. Work is not a problem: the scalp stays pink for a few hours and your hair hides most of it. Book late in the day if your hair is very short and you have a meeting that afternoon.

Is this the same as a transplant or a balding treatment?

No, on both counts. A transplant is surgery that moves follicles, and a balding treatment is prescribed: both belong with a doctor. Scalp microneedling is an esthetician's treatment, with no injection, that works on the fibre and the scalp. If you are looking for a medical procedure, PRP for hair is done by a physician, with its own consultation.

Does it work if my hair is very short or clipper-cut?

Yes, and it is actually simpler. On a short cut, the pen goes straight onto the skin with no need to divide the hair into sections. What matters is that there is still hair to strengthen: on a head shaved close by choice, the treatment does little, because the thickness it brings will not show. Avoid shaving your head right before the session, a fresh nick would get it postponed.

I am already on a prescribed treatment for my hair. Can I still do this?

Tell us when you book, and ask your doctor. This treatment does not replace a prescribed treatment and never stands in for one: it looks after the fibre and the scalp, the treatment deals with the cause. Depending on what you apply or take, there may be a delay to respect around the session, and your doctor sets it, not us. We never touch a medical treatment.
