Back treatment for men in Laval

The one area of your body you can neither see nor reach. Deep cleanse, extraction and mask, one hour.

The area prepared before the treatment

TYPE OF CARE

Esthetician's treatment. No medical procedure.

What is a back treatment

A facial, applied to the back. Same steps: deep cleanse, exfoliation, extraction and mask, with products set for thicker skin.

And a man's back accumulates for five reasons that stack. Its skin is among the thickest on the body and very dense in oil glands, which is already more true for men than for women. Then come the rub of clothing, the sweat trapped against the skin under a training shirt, and the shampoo residue running down it in every shower without ever being properly rinsed off.

Add the backpack worn all day, the gym bench, the hot car in summer. The area works, it sweats, and nobody looks after it.

The point that decides everything: you cannot do this yourself. Your face, you see every morning. Your back, you see by accident in a changing-room mirror, and you cannot reach the middle or the top with both hands.

Is the back treatment right for you?

The treatment works on the skin of the back and on what blocks it. It does nothing for a pitted scar.

It is for you if:

  • You avoid taking your shirt off

At the beach, in the changing room, camping. It is the number one reason, and there is nothing shallow about it.

  • You train and it is getting worse

Sweat plus a tight shirt plus a shared bench: that is the exact combination that blocks pores which were already productive. It is not a reason to stop training.

  • Your skin feels rough to the touch

Sandpaper texture between the shoulder blades with no visible spots is a back loaded with keratin and sebum. It responds very well.

  • It has been like this since you were a teenager

Plenty of thirty-five-year-old men have a back that has never once been cleaned. It is never too late, and the first appointment always produces a striking result.

Are your spots red, hard and painful?

That is inflammatory acne, and it belongs to a physician. Write to us, but expect the answer to be that you start there.

Contraindications

INFLAMMATORY ACNE IN A FLARE

Extracting a red, painful lesion spreads inflammation and can leave a lasting mark. The esthetician works around it, or reschedules.

ISOTRETINOIN (ACCUTANE) TREATMENT

Skin becomes thin and extraction marks it. Name it when you book; your physician sets the delay.

SUNBURN ON THE AREA

A burned back is not worked on. Wait until it has fully recovered.

A RECENT TATTOO

Under six weeks, the area is avoided. Once fully healed, the treatment runs normally over it.

A SKIN INFECTION

Widespread folliculitis, a wound, a rash: the session is rescheduled.

A facial for men

A treatment adjusted to your back

Two men do not get the same treatment, and three things explain why.

HOW MANY PORES ARE BLOCKED
That decides the time given to extraction, and extraction is the heart of this treatment. A first back takes a lot of it, a maintained back takes little.
BODY HAIR
A hairy back does not change the protocol, it changes the movements. Extraction happens between the hairs and exfoliation follows their direction.
WHAT IS CAUSING THE CONGESTION
An athlete's back, an outdoor worker's back and an office back do not behave the same. That changes the finishing products and the advice afterward.

The session step by step

We want to do everything we can to bring you toward the best version of yourself. That is why every session follows the same steps.

  • A practitioner and a man looking together at the areas to treat

    1

    Examining the area

The esthetician separates what can be extracted from what cannot. That happens before anything is touched.

  • An electrode strap being fastened across a man's abdomen

    2

    Cleansing and steam

Longer than on a face, because the skin is thicker. Damp heat softens what is blocking.

  • The device's control screen, a man lying on the bed behind

    3

    Extraction

The long part, and the only one that pinches. It concentrates on the upper back, between the shoulder blades.

  • An infrared wrap folded over a man's torso

    4

    The calming mask

It settles the redness extraction left and tightens the surface.

  • A man in a robe walking toward the showers

    5

What she saw, and what to do next

Including what in your habits keeps the problem going. Rinsing shampoo off is often part of it.

Why choose L'Institut Béa

  • AN AREA NOBODY ELSE TREATS

Rooms that do facials do not all do backs. Here it is a treatment in its own right, not an add-on.

  • AN HOUR, MOST OF IT EXTRACTION

The price covers the full treatment and the time it takes to empty what is blocked.

  • WE SAY WHEN IT IS MEDICAL

Inflammatory acne belongs to a physician, and you will hear that before paying for a session.

Common questions

Everything people ask us before a first session, answered plainly.

I have had spots on my back since I was fifteen. Is it too late?

No, and you are far from alone in that. Plenty of men arrive here at thirty-five or forty with a back that has literally never been cleaned, and that is exactly why the first appointment produces a result nobody forgets: there are twenty years of build-up to remove. What the treatment will not change are pitted scars left by old lesions, if you have any. What it does change are the blocked pores, the blackheads, the texture and the surface spots you have now.

Does it hurt?

Extraction pinches, as it does on a face, and it is the only uncomfortable part. Two things work in your favour: back skin is markedly thicker than facial skin, so it takes it better, and the back has far fewer sensitive nerve endings than the sides of the nose. The sharpest area is the top, between the shoulder blades, which is also the most loaded. You can ask to slow down at any point.

My back is hairy. Is that a problem?

Not at all, and the esthetician will not react to it. Hair does not change the protocol, only the movements: extraction happens between the hairs and exfoliation follows their direction rather than going against it. You do not have to shave beforehand. That said, if the hair is very dense and blocked pores return quickly, laser hair removal on the back often solves both problems at once, since a hair growing back into a blocked pore is exactly what creates the spot. Choosing between laser, wax and electrolysis happens on the men's hair removal page.

Can I train afterward?

Wait twenty-four hours before going back to the gym, for two concrete reasons rather than on principle. Sweat on freshly extracted skin irritates, and the back of a shared bench against open pores is the surest way to turn a good session into folliculitis. Same for the backpack: skip it for a day. After that everything goes back to normal.

Does shampoo really play a part?

Far more than people think, and it is the most useful piece of advice that comes out of the session. When you wash your hair, all the product runs down your back before it reaches the drain, and the silicones and cleansers stay on the surface if you do not rinse the back afterward. The habit to build is simple: wash your hair first, rinse, then wash your body. It costs nothing, and plenty of men see a difference in three weeks from that alone.

Is one session enough?

To empty a loaded back, the first session does the bulk of the work and the difference is visible immediately. After that it depends on what created the problem. If it is several years of build-up, maintenance every six to eight weeks is enough. If you sweat heavily every day, it returns faster, and the real lever becomes what you do between sessions. Nobody will sell you a series at a first appointment.

Do you do the scalp at the same time?

No, that is a separate treatment with its own name, Keravive. It runs an hour and is booked separately. Both can happen on the same day if you want, but they are two appointments and two prices, not a package.
