Back facial in Laval
Clear skin on your back, on the one area you can neither see nor reach. A back facial works on blocked pores, breakouts and the rough texture of the back or the buttocks.

NATURE OF THE TREATMENT
An esthetician's treatment. No medical procedure.
What is a back facial
A back facial applies the steps of a facial to this area: deep cleansing, exfoliation, extraction and a mask.
The skin of the back is among the thickest on the body and it is dense in oil glands. Added to that are the friction of clothing, sweat held against the skin and the shampoo residue that runs down it at every shower.
This treatment addresses breakouts on the back, blocked pores, blackheads and rough skin on the back or the buttocks.
It is an area that accumulates, and one you cannot treat yourself.

Is a back facial right for you?
This treatment addresses an area your routine does not cover.
It is for you if:
You get breakouts on your back while your face is clear
They are two different environments, and the back needs its own upkeep.
You avoid certain clothes
Backless tops, swimwear, thin straps.
An event is coming up where your back will be on show
Plan at least a week ahead, not the day before.
You want seasonal upkeep
Before summer, say, without waiting for a problem to settle in.
If your back has widespread inflammatory acne, this treatment will not be enough
We will tell you and point you toward a medical opinion. The body consultation is free and exists exactly for that.
Contraindications
WIDESPREAD INFLAMMATORY ACNE
Active red lesions across a large surface. Exfoliation and extraction would irritate further. This calls for a medical opinion, not an esthetic treatment.
A SUNBURN OR AN OPEN WOUND
The back is the area that burns most easily without anyone noticing. Burnt or broken skin, or an active infection, rules the session out.
RECENT SHAVING OR WAXING
From 24 to 48 hours depending on the method. Skin that has just been waxed carries invisible micro-lesions, and exfoliating on top of them irritates for nothing.

A treatment adjusted to your skin
The skin of the back is not worked the way the face is. Four things change.
- HOW LONG THE CLEANSE TAKES
- Longer than on the face, because the surface is large and the build-up often old.
- HOW STRONG THE EXFOLIATION IS
- The layer of dead cells is thicker here. The exfoliation is set accordingly, without being guessed at.
- WHERE THE EXTRACTION FOCUSES
- Mainly on the upper back and between the shoulder blades, where the pores are most blocked, rather than evenly across the whole surface.
- THE MASK AT THE END
- Chosen from what the skin showed during the session: soothing if it reacted, purifying if congestion still dominates.

Frequently asked questions
Everything people ask us before a first session, answered plainly.
Does it hurt?
No, except during the extraction, and only on the most blocked pores. The rest of the session mainly gives a sensation of skin that can breathe, with a light prickling during the scrub. The skin of the back is thicker than that of the face, so it takes extraction better, but between the shoulder blades the sensation stays sharp for a few seconds. The pace adapts if you ask.
Why do I get breakouts on my back when my face is clear?
Because they are two different environments, even though it is the same person. The skin of the back is thicker, denser in oil glands, and subject to demands the face never faces: constant friction from clothing, sweat trapped under fabric, heat, a backpack, and shampoo residue running down at every shower. That last point is the most underestimated, and the habit that helps most is simple: rinse your hair leaning forward, then wash your back last.
How many sessions should I plan for?
A single session already changes how the area looks, which is not the case for most body treatments. The usual logic generally calls for a first pass to clear things out, then spaced upkeep, because the cause itself does not go away: you will keep wearing clothes, sweating and washing your hair. The rhythm depends on your skin and on what you put in place alongside.
Does the extraction leave marks?
Local redness is common where the pores were most blocked, and it usually resolves in a day or two. The skin of the back marks proportionally less than the face, but it takes a little longer to look normal again, because renewal is slower there. What prolongs the redness: tight clothing, a backpack, a workout or a hot tub in the hours that follow.
Should I avoid shaving or waxing beforehand?
Yes, allow 24 to 48 hours depending on the method, and leave longer after waxing: the follicles stay open for several hours and the skin is more reactive. If you want to do both in the same period, the logical order is the facial first and the hair removal after, never the reverse, because exfoliated skin waxes better and leaves fewer ingrown hairs. Mention it when booking if a hair removal appointment is already in the calendar.
When should I book it before an event?
At least a week ahead, not the day before. That is the gap that lets the skin show the benefit with no trace of the appointment left. A wedding, a beach, a backless dress: the treatment does exactly what you expect of it, as long as you do not book it right up against the date. Tell us the date when you book and we will set the appointment accordingly.
Can I have it at the same time as a facial?
Yes, and the steps are the same, simply applied to different skin. Allow the time: two complete treatments easily come to two hours. There is also something few people anticipate, which is that the skin receives a great deal in one visit, and some people prefer to alternate from one appointment to the next, especially if their skin is reactive. One trip on one hand, separate recovery on the other. We discuss it based on your skin and your schedule.
