KB Pure Brightening Facial in Laval
A more even complexion, with no downtime at all. This protocol works on sun spots, marks left by old breakouts and a lack of glow.

NATURE OF THE TREATMENT
An esthetician's treatment. No injection, no medical procedure.
What is the Brightening protocol
It is a one-hour manual facial, built around the KB Pure range, aimed at the evenness of your complexion.
A spot is a localised excess of pigment, produced by skin cells in response to sun, past inflammation or a hormonal change. The protocol exfoliates the surface where the pigment gathers then applies brightening actives to skin that is ready to take them in.
This treatment addresses sun spots, an uneven complexion, post-inflammatory marks and a lack of glow.
It does not make the skin peel. This is the protocol that works on pigment with no downtime.

Is this protocol right for you?
This treatment works on the evenness of your complexion without putting your week on hold.
It is for you if:
Spots have settled in over the summers
On the cheekbones, the forehead or the backs of the hands, where the sun hit longest.
Your tone is no longer even from one area to the next
Darker in the middle of the face, lighter elsewhere, with no distinct spot.
Old breakouts left brown marks
These are not scars, they are pigment, and they are worked on differently.
You cannot afford to peel
A job, a social life, an event. This protocol does not make the skin peel.
It is not the strongest treatment for pigment
The MeLine peel works deeper, with several days of peeling to plan for. See also the comparison of the four protocols if you are hesitating between them.
Contraindications
A SPOT THAT IS CHANGING
In shape, colour or size. It goes to a doctor before any esthetic treatment, and we will not work on it.
BROKEN OR BURNT SKIN
A recent sunburn, an open wound, a rosacea, eczema or dermatitis flare. Inflamed skin pigments more, which would run directly against the goal.
ISOTRETINOIN (ACCUTANE) TREATMENT
Ongoing or recent. Also tell us about any known allergy and any ongoing treatment on the skin of your face.

A treatment adjusted to your skin
Four things are set during the session, and the first one is what is still missing.
- HOW STRONG THE EXFOLIATION IS
- It is set on your skin tone and on how reactive your skin is. Too strong, it inflames, and inflamed skin pigments more.
- WHICH AREAS ARE TARGETED
- The actives concentrate where the pigment is densest, not evenly across the whole face.
- THE SEASON
- The protocol is approached differently in January and in July, because the exposure that follows the session decides part of the result.

Frequently asked questions
Everything people ask us before a first session, answered plainly.
Does it hurt?
No, this is a surface treatment. The exfoliation gives a prickling for a few minutes, more noticeable on thin or reactive skin, and it drops as soon as the product is removed. Nothing stings afterwards. If your skin heats up more than that, say so: the strength of the exfoliation can be set, and skin that reacts too much pigments more, which would run against the goal.
Which kind of spot does it work on?
On surface pigment, mainly sun spots built up over the years and brown marks left by old breakouts. It works less on deep or hormonal pigment, which calls for a longer protocol and a different approach. The distinction is made by eye in consultation, and it changes the answer: that is why the consultation exists and why it is free.
What is the difference with melasma?
Melasma is hormonal pigment, often in symmetrical patches on the cheekbones, the forehead or the upper lip, and it behaves differently from a sun spot: it comes back more easily, reacts strongly to heat and sun, and calls for management over time. If that is what you have, this protocol can be part of it, but on its own it will not be enough, and we would rather say so beforehand. The pigmentation page explains what separates the two.
How long before I see something?
Pigment does not go in one session, whatever the protocol. What changes fastest is overall glow, visible as you walk out. Evenness of tone, on the other hand, is worked over several sessions and several weeks, because the skin has to renew itself in between. Nobody should promise you a result on spots in a single visit.
Do I have to avoid the sun afterwards?
Yes, and it is the most important instruction of this treatment, well ahead of all the others. Skin that has just been exfoliated and worked on for pigment is more reactive to sun, and unprotected exposure can produce more pigment than there was to begin with. Daily sun protection is not a polite recommendation here: without it, the treatment works against itself. Count it in the budget of your plan.
Is it better in winter or in summer?
Winter is simpler, because exposure is low and protection easier to keep up. That is why pigment work is often planned from October to April. That said, nothing rules out a session in summer if the sun protection genuinely follows, and someone who works indoors is in a very different situation from someone outdoors all day. Tell us your reality, and the calendar adjusts.
