Wellness for men in Laval

Ten hours a day in the same position, or four training sessions a week your body is not quite keeping up with.

A facial for men

Hamza or Isabelle

Hamza does sports massage. Deeper work, assisted stretching and cupping. It suits recovery, training load and a specific muscle that is not letting go.

Isabelle does massage therapy. She alternates deep work with more enveloping strokes, which brings the nervous system down as well as treating the muscle. It suits tension that comes from posture, stress or sitting still.

Both run an hour and cost the same. Both come with an insurance receipt. The difference is intent, not quality.

There is also a factor nobody says out loud: some men are more comfortable with a male practitioner, and that is a perfectly good reason to choose.

About the cupping marks

Cupping leaves circles. Almost always, and for several days.

They are not bruises in the usual sense and they do not hurt, but they are visible, and they are darker where the tissue was most congested. If you have something where your back will be seen, book with a week to spare or say you would rather skip that part.

Better to know now than to discover it in a changing room on Saturday.

Questions people ask

Everything people ask us before a first session, answered plainly.

Which one should I book?

If a specific muscle is not releasing after training, Hamza. If the tension comes from sitting, from stress or from carrying a week around with you, Isabelle. If you genuinely cannot tell, book an hour with either and say what is going on: both will tell you if the other one is the better fit.

Will I get an insurance receipt?

Yes, for massage therapy, issued in the practitioner's own name. Whether your insurer reimburses depends on your contract, and some plans require a doctor's note. Worth checking your coverage before booking rather than after.

How much pressure should I ask for?

As much as you can breathe through. Pain that makes you hold your breath is counterproductive, because a muscle braced against pressure does not release. Deep does not mean brutal, and asking for less is not a failure of nerve.

Is assisted stretching worth it?

If your range of movement is what limits you rather than pain, yes. It is part of what Hamza does and it works differently from massage: someone else moving the joint gets further than you do on your own, because you are not simultaneously bracing against it.
