Because the two cross paths far more often than people think, and separating them leaves the client to make the connection between two appointments herself. Someone who comes in for spots on her face sometimes discovers they appeared with a pregnancy or a change of contraception. Another who finds her skin has changed is going through a long stretch of stress, or has been sleeping badly for months. A third whose weight will not move despite her efforts may have a question a body treatment will not settle. Esthetics treats what shows, naturopathy accompanies what surrounds it, and the same person sees both sides, which happens nowhere else in this field. Neither replaces medical care, and naturopathic support remains life coaching, never treatment.

No, and the distinction is worth understanding before you book. It is a medical-esthetic clinic: the great majority of treatments are done by estheticians and are not medical procedures, which means they need no prescription, make no diagnosis and treat no condition. A doctor practises here for the injectables, but his side is governed separately, with its own rules: he keeps his own medical record, which institute staff cannot access, and he bills his own fees. That separation is required by the Collège des médecins when a doctor practises in premises that are not his. Every treatment page on this site says plainly who performs the act, and that is information you should ask for everywhere, not only here.

Someone from the institute, not a call centre and not a chatbot. The team is around eight people, most of them self-employed, and whoever answers is often the person you will see when you arrive, which saves explaining everything twice. If your question needs Laura's opinion, she gets back to you herself rather than having an approximate answer passed along. It usually takes a few hours during the week, a little longer on days when the calendar is full, since nobody sits at a desk full-time to answer. Your information stays here. The health form and the treatment record are filled in on site, on paper, and they are kept at the institute, under lock. They do not leave 600 Lucien-Paiement. We keep them for five years, then destroy them. You can ask to see them, to have them corrected or to have them destroyed, by writing to info@institutbea.com or calling (450) 688-1232. Both are accurate and we use both, without contradiction. "L'Institut Béa" is the name, "medical- esthetic clinic" describes what happens inside. Institute was chosen at the founding because it carries the seriousness of the project while leaving room for the offering to grow, which it has: what began around esthetics widened into laser, body, wellness and naturopathy. The name itself comes from béatitude, cut short. As for clinic, the word is neither forbidden nor reserved in Quebec, contrary to what you sometimes hear, and it correctly describes a place where a doctor practises. Neither word is there to impress.

Yes, and it is probably the best way to start if you are hesitating. The skin analysis and the body consultation are free, they run twenty to thirty minutes, and they commit you to absolutely nothing: you sign nothing, buy nothing, and can leave without having booked a thing. Plenty of people do exactly that, and it is perfectly fine: nobody will call you back to push. We may even tell you that what you are looking for is not here, in which case we point you elsewhere.
