What is the Classic protocol
The Classic protocol is a complete, entirely manual facial, built around the KB Pure range.
It follows the structure of a foundational facial: makeup removal, deep cleansing, exfoliation, extraction by hand, mask and protection. No device is involved. Extraction is done manually, only on the comedones that lend themselves to it, which lets us adapt the pressure and the time spent on each area.
This treatment addresses a dull complexion, blocked pores, dehydration and ongoing upkeep.
It is the facial you book when nothing in particular is wrong but your skin needs it anyway.

Is the Classic protocol right for you?

Your skin is fine but it needs upkeep
Nothing is really wrong, it simply needs a deep cleanse.

The main difference between the four is the concern being worked on; the price and the length vary with the protocol as well. Oiliness and breakouts go to the acne protocol, 1 h 30 and $175. Spots go to the brightening one, one hour and $180. Firmness and texture go to the anti-aging one, 1 h 15 and $200.
Contraindications
WHAT POSTPONES THE TREATMENT
A sunburn, an open wound or an active infection, a significant flare of rosacea, eczema or dermatitis, an active cold sore. Exfoliation and extraction would irritate skin that is already reacting, and the treatment works across the whole surface of the face: there is no way to work around an area.
WHAT TO TELL US BEFORE THE APPOINTMENT
Topical retinoids, AHAs and BHAs or any strong exfoliant, a peel, a laser or another recent procedure, and any known allergy to a cosmetic product.
ISOTRETINOIN (ACCUTANE)
Are you taking it, or did you recently? Tell us before the appointment. The medication can leave the skin very dry and sensitive: depending on its condition and on the exfoliation planned, we adapt or postpone the treatment, and we may ask you to check with your physician.

Does it hurt?
The treatment is generally comfortable. It is a surface treatment, with nothing breaking the skin, and extraction is the most sensitive step: the sides of the nose are felt more than the cheeks. If an area becomes uncomfortable, we ease the pressure or stop the extraction there, and it can carry on at the next session.
Which of the four protocols should I choose?
The Classic if nothing specific bothers you and you are after upkeep. The other three if you have a target: oiliness and breakouts for the acne protocol, spots for the brightening one, firmness and texture for the anti-aging one. The main difference between the four is the concern being worked on; the price and the length vary with the protocol as well. The free consultation exists exactly to settle it.
What is the difference with a Hydrafacial?
Both can cleanse, exfoliate and temporarily improve hydration and glow, but the method changes. The Classic is entirely manual and leans on cleansing, extraction by hand and the KB Pure products. Hydrafacial uses a device that combines exfoliation, suction and the application of solutions in the same session. If you like a manual facial and want upkeep at $150, the Classic makes sense. If you prefer the suction and the Hydrafacial protocol, take the other one. The free consultation can settle it if your skin is very congested or very reactive.
How many sessions should I plan for?
There is no compulsory series. Some clients come back every few weeks for upkeep, others only when they feel their skin getting congested again. How often depends on your skin, your routine and your budget, and it is decided with you.
Can I wear makeup afterwards?
After the exfoliation and the extractions, the skin can be temporarily more sensitive. If it is red or reactive, we suggest skipping makeup until the next day, to limit rubbing and extra products on the area. If you have an event that same evening, say so when booking: the protocol adapts, and some steps move to another time.
It is my first time, what should I expect?
An hour and a quarter lying down, warm, with nothing to do. You keep your clothes on; only the upper chest is uncovered and draped with a towel. Nothing that happens is painful, and you will always know what is coming: we announce every step. Come without makeup if you can, it frees up a few minutes for the rest. And do not feel any awkwardness about the state of your skin. It is exactly what we see all day.
What should I do between two facials?
The most useful thing is not buying more products, it is using fewer and better ones. A cleanser that does not strip, steady hydration and daily sun protection do more than any added serum. We will tell you at the end of the session what your skin showed, and what is worth changing in your routine.
