Slimwave in Laval

A firmer shape, with no effort on your part. Slimwave works your muscles through electrical stimulation, then infrared heat takes over on circulation and fluid retention.

Electrodes strapped across the abdomen and thighs

NATURE OF THE TREATMENT

An esthetician's treatment. No medical procedure.

What is Slimwave

Slimwave is a two-phase body contouring session, in a dedicated room: electrical muscle stimulation, then an infrared wrap.

When you contract a muscle deliberately, your brain sends an electrical signal down to the fibre. Electrical stimulation sends that signal directly, through electrodes placed on the skin. The muscle genuinely contracts, without you having to command it.

This treatment addresses muscle tone, circulation, the feeling of heavy legs and fluid retention.

The session is entirely passive: an hour and ten minutes during which nothing is asked of you.

Is Slimwave right for you?

This treatment works the muscle under the skin. It is worth knowing what it does before booking, and what it does not.

It is for you if:

  • Training is not possible right now

An injury, a schedule, a phase of life that keeps you away. The muscle is worked without any effort from you.

  • One specific area is not keeping up

You already train, but the abdomen or the inner thighs are not following the rest.

  • Your legs are heavy by the end of the day

The infrared phase and the muscle contraction both work on return circulation.

  • You want an hour where nothing is asked of you

The session is passive from start to finish, and plenty of clients fall asleep during the infrared.

If your goal is to lose weight, this is not the right treatment

The body consultation is free and exists to point you toward what genuinely answers what you are after.

Contraindications

AN ACTIVE ELECTRONIC IMPLANT

A pacemaker, an implantable defibrillator or any other electronic device. The treatment relies on a current applied to the body, and there is no gentler setting that makes it acceptable.

EPILEPSY OR AN ABDOMINAL HERNIA

Both call for an assessment before any session, and may rule out certain areas without ruling out the treatment entirely.

PREGNANCY

Slimwave is not done during pregnancy. A copper IUD also calls for a check, depending on the area to be treated.

A treatment adjusted to your body

The session does not unfold the same way from one person to the next. Four things are set in the room.

WHICH MUSCLE GROUPS ARE TARGETED
They are chosen at the consultation, based on what you want to work on and on what you already do alongside.
WHERE THE ELECTRODES GO
They sit over the muscles chosen, and their position changes everything, both for comfort and for whether the muscle genuinely works.
THE STRENGTH OF THE CURRENT
It rises in steps, and you are the one who says when it is enough. Nothing goes higher without your say-so.
HOW LONG THE INFRARED PHASE RUNS
It is adjusted to how well you tolerate heat and to the time you have before leaving.

The session step by step

We want to do everything we can to bring you toward the best version of yourself. That is why every session follows the same steps.

  • Client and esthetician in conversation, the treatment room behind them

    1

    Body consultation

Free. We determine which muscle groups to target and we check the contraindications, particularly electronic implants.

  • Electrodes going on across the abdomen, the esthetician's hands

    2

    Placing the electrodes

You settle in and the electrodes are positioned on the areas chosen.

  • The machine display and the client's hand signalling, close framing

    3

    Bringing the intensity up

The current rises in steps. You say when it is enough.

  • The client lying down, relaxed, the room dimly lit

    4

    The contraction cycles

Contraction and release follow one another for the programmed length. You have nothing to do.

  • The infrared wrap closed, then the corridor to the showers

    5

    Infrared wrap and showers

The heat takes over, then you have access to the showers on site before leaving.

Frequently asked questions

Everything people ask us before a first session, answered plainly.

Does it hurt?

No. You first feel a light tingling, then the contraction rising, holding and releasing, in steady cycles. The intensity is set in steps and you are the one who says where it stops. The closest sensation is a deliberate contraction held for a long time, without the effort. The next day, some people feel an ache comparable to a workout, on the stimulated areas only.

Does electrical stimulation replace training?

No, and we would rather say so before you book. Slimwave contracts the muscle, which is genuinely real and felt from the first session. Training does more: it works the heart, the joints, balance, bone density, and it spends energy across the whole body rather than locally. Slimwave is useful alongside, when one area is not keeping up, and as a bridge when training is not possible.

How many sessions should I plan for?

Muscle works here the way it does in training: a single session gives a sensation, it is regular repetition that acts on tone. Common practice generally calls for a sustained rhythm rather than sessions spaced at random, because muscle loses what it gains if it is not worked again. The number depends on where you start, on the area and on what you do alongside. The body consultation exists exactly to establish that.

Do I sweat a lot?

Yes, during the infrared phase, and that is the point. The wrap rises in temperature and sweating is the body's normal response. That is precisely why the room has showers. Bring something to change into and something to tie your hair back with, and drink beforehand rather than only afterwards: the sweating starts within the first few minutes.

Can I come on my lunch break?

Yes, and it is one of the few body treatments you leave presentable enough to go back to work, thanks to the showers on site. Allow for the hour and ten minutes of the session, plus time for the shower. Nothing stays visible on the skin afterwards, apart from passing redness where the electrodes were.

Does it make you lose weight?

No, and it is the most common confusion about this treatment. Slimwave works the muscle under the fat, not the fat itself. What changes is tone, firmness and circulation, not the number on the scale. If weight loss is what you are after, say so at the consultation: we will tell you plainly that this is not the treatment that answers it.

Can it be combined with another body treatment?

Yes, because body treatments do not work on the same layer. Slimwave deals with the muscle at depth. Pressotherapy and wood therapy work on circulation and the surface. The order matters: circulatory work generally comes after the muscle stimulation, to support what the contraction mobilised. Spacing matters too. Two intense treatments on the same area on the same day usually make for an uncomfortable next day without a better result.
