Microneedling in Laval
Firmer skin, with a finer and more even grain. Microneedling helps improve texture, enlarged pores, some acne scars and fine lines.

NATURE OF THE TREATMENT
An esthetician's treatment. No medical procedure.
What is microneedling
Microneedling is a treatment that uses fine needles to create controlled micro-channels at the surface of the skin.
It works by triggering the skin's natural repair process. Each micro-channel is read as repair work to be done, which helps restart the production of collagen, the protein that gives skin its firmness.
Over several weeks, skin can look firmer, smoother and more even.

Is microneedling right for you?
Microneedling can be worth considering if you want to work on the quality of your skin at depth and your main concerns are texture, enlarged pores or acne scars.
It is for you if you notice:
A grain that has thickened
The treatment helps make the surface smoother and more even.
Pores that show more than they used to
It can contribute to reducing how visible they are.
Pitted acne scars
The treatment can contribute to softening some texture irregularities. See acne and facial scarring.
Fine lines and a loss of firmness
Fine lines and sagging can gradually improve, over several weeks.
Not sure this is the right treatment for you?
A skin analysis assesses your concerns and your goals in order to determine the most suitable treatment and plan.
Contraindications
SKIN IN A FLARE
Severe inflammatory acne, a rosacea flare, a cold sore or an open wound in the area to be treated all mean postponing the session. Treating already inflamed skin spreads the inflammation instead of calming it.
ISOTRETINOIN (ACCUTANE) TREATMENT (ACCUTANE)
Tell us before your session if you are on isotretinoin (Accutane) or stopped recently. Depending on the state of your skin and your situation, we may recommend postponing the treatment.
UNUSUAL HEALING
A clotting disorder or a tendency to keloid scarring calls for assessment before going ahead.

A treatment adjusted to your skin
The result depends on settings decided during the session, based on your skin.
- DEPTH
- Adjusted area by area. The skin around the eyes is far thinner than on the cheeks, and the same depth everywhere would give an uneven result.
- NUMBER OF PASSES
- Each area is worked in several successive passes. That is what makes it possible to cover evenly without pressing on any one spot.
- WHEN THE SERUM GOES ON
- Applied at the step the protocol calls for, not at the end of the appointment.
The session step by step
We want to do everything we can to bring you toward the best version of yourself. That is why every session follows the same steps.

Their experienceat Béa
I had such an amazing experience at L’Institut Bea! From start to finish, everything was professional, welcoming, and genuinely enjoyable. I began with a skin analysis with Laura, which was incredibly interesting. She took the time to explain everything in detail, and I learned so much about the health of my skin. It really felt personalized and informative, which I appreciated so much. After that, I had a microneedling treatment with Vanessa, and it was amazing. She made me feel completely comfortable throughout the entire process. I left with my skin feeling fresh, rejuvenated, and like a brand new face. You can truly tell how passionate and knowledgeable the team is. I already can’t wait to go back! Highly recommend to anyone looking to take their skincare to the next level.

Frequently asked questions
Everything people ask us before a first session, answered plainly.
Does microneedling hurt?
The sensation is usually described as a sustained prickling rather than pain. Numbing cream is available and left on for as long as it needs to work: applied for too short a time, it does nothing. The feeling is not uniform across the face. Areas where the skin is thin and close to bone, the forehead, the temples, around the nose, are felt noticeably more than the cheeks. Nothing obliges you to put up with anything: you can ask for a pause or a shallower setting at any point.
How many sessions should I plan for?
It depends on what you are trying to improve, where your skin starts from and how it responds to the first session. Working on texture generally takes fewer than softening pitted acne scars. The result builds over several weeks, which forces the spacing: a plan is counted in months, not in closely spaced appointments. A number quoted before seeing your skin is an average, not an answer. We give you a realistic number for your case at the first appointment, and it is adjusted after the first session based on what we observe.
At what age can I start microneedling?
There is no starting age, there is a moment. The right marker is what you see on your skin at rest: lines visible without any expression, a grain that has thickened, firmness that has changed. Collagen production starts dropping far earlier than people think, from your twenties. Some notice it in their late twenties, others much later, and both are normal. Microneedling is also done for reasons that have nothing to do with age, such as acne scars at twenty-two. It does happen that we tell you it is not the right moment yet.
How long does the redness last?
It varies from one person to the next, depending on how reactive your skin is and the depth used. Naturally reactive skin or a deeper session extend that period. What genuinely helps: leaving the skin alone, avoiding heat, exercise and makeup for the rest of the day, and protecting from the sun in the following days, because freshly perforated skin is more prone to marks. What does not help: an active, an acid or a retinol too soon. Your instructions are given to you at the end of the appointment, suited to your skin.
Does this microneedling involve injections?
No. The treatment described on this page is an esthetic one, done with micro-needles and a serum applied at the surface. It involves no injection.
Does microneedling suit every skin?
Microneedling can suit several phototypes. The protocol does have to be adapted to your skin, especially when it carries a higher risk of pigmentation after inflammation. That is what we determine at the first appointment. The situations described under contraindications are reasons to postpone, not to rule out: we go ahead once the skin has calmed.
Can I have microneedling if I also get regular facials?
Yes, and it is often a good combination, because the two work on neither the same layer nor the same problem. Microneedling works on structure at depth. A treatment like Hydrafacial works on the surface, with an effect visible the same day. The only rule is spacing. We do not do them in the same week, because freshly perforated skin does not need an exfoliation on top. Same logic for a peel or microdermabrasion. Tell us what you already do, including your home routine: that is what makes it possible to build a calendar rather than a string of isolated appointments.
