- What the photos show
- Both photos are taken lying down, from the same angle and at the same spot. What they compare is the line of the flank.

A smoother, better-defined area, where the rest of you has moved on without it. Lipocavitation uses ultrasound to work on small pockets of subcutaneous fat that hold on.

NATURE OF THE TREATMENT
An esthetician's treatment. No medical procedure.
Lipocavitation is a treatment using low-frequency ultrasound, applied to one precise area with a probe and a contact gel.
That ultrasound creates microscopic bubbles in the fluid of the tissue, which form and collapse very quickly. That phenomenon is called cavitation, and the mechanical agitation acts on how the tissue under the skin is organised.
This treatment addresses the localized look of the abdomen and flanks. The texture of the skin may also look different, but that is a possible secondary benefit rather than the target: for a dimpled look, wood therapy answers it more directly.
It can change the contour or the local circumference, but it is neither a weight-loss method nor the equivalent of liposuction.

This treatment works on one precise area, on a body whose weight is stable.
It is for you if:
One area resists while the rest has moved
The stomach after a pregnancy, the thighs despite the training, the flanks that will not follow.
Your weight is relatively stable
A large change in weight during the plan makes the result harder to judge and harder to hold.
The texture of the skin bothers you as much as the shape
Some people find the area smoother to the touch. That is a possible benefit, not the target: if it is the dimpled look that bothers you first, wood therapy answers it better.
You want to support habits you already have
The treatment adds to what you already do, it does not replace it.
If you are looking to lose weight, this is not the right door
The body consultation is free and exists to point you toward what genuinely answers what you are after. It is not required: if you already know what you want, you can book a lipocavitation directly.
Some conditions, some implants and some medication can rule the treatment out. We check your cardiac, liver and kidney history before the first session, following the indications and contraindications set for our device.
A pacemaker or an implantable defibrillator: tell us before the consultation.
At L'Institut Béa, we do not do lipocavitation during pregnancy or while breastfeeding.

Four things determine what the session gives, and none of them comes down to the brand of the device.
Here is how a lipocavitation session goes at Béa.
A CONSULTATION THAT CAN SAY NO
If your goal is weight loss, correcting significant laxity or a medical problem, we tell you before you start a series, not after.
A PLAN BUILT FOR YOU
We build the plan around the area, where you start from and what the first sessions give.
FINANCING
Medicard financing lets you spread the cost of a plan over several months.

Fresha review
These photos are published for information only and are in no way a guarantee of results. Every skin responds differently. Published with the written consent of the clients.

Everything people ask us before a first session, answered plainly.
Generally no. You feel a light vibration and gentle warmth under the probe. What surprises people the first time is the humming, not the sensation on the skin. The session is done lying down and plenty of clients find it restful. If the area is sensitive that day, say so when you arrive; the intensity and the pace adjust.
The word “lipocavitation” covers several devices whose settings and effects are not the same. Some ultrasound body-contouring technologies are designed to reduce the thickness of subcutaneous fat; others have more modest effects. Here, we base what we expect on the device we use, not on the generic promise of “melting fat”, and it is not the equivalent of liposuction. The confusion often comes from conflating it with medical procedures, done by a physician, in an entirely different setting and at an entirely different price.
The treatment is generally well tolerated. Temporary redness, warmth, tenderness or slight swelling can appear. As with any therapeutic ultrasound device, improper use can also cause a burn or a stronger irritation: that is why the contact with the skin and the settings of the device are watched throughout the session. Tell us straight away about pain or excessive heat.
This treatment is generally judged over a series rather than after a single session. The number and the frequency depend on the device, on the area and on the goal. One constraint is firm: we do not treat the same area twice in the same week, the interval being part of the protocol. The rest depends on the area, on its starting volume and on what you do alongside, and that is what the body consultation establishes.
Some low-frequency devices produce a humming or a high-pitched sound that is more noticeable during the session. It stops when the device stops. It is unsettling for the first few minutes, then most people forget it. If the sensation bothers you, say so to your esthetician: the session can be broken up with pauses.
Stay well hydrated before and after the session, as you normally would, and follow the instructions you are given for your plan. We do not present water as what determines your result.
It is maintained. A result obtained through this treatment is not acquired once and for all, and picking it up again after a change in weight is normal rather than a sign of failure. That follows from what the treatment works on: one localized area, on a body that keeps changing. We would rather say so before you book, because that is what determines whether the treatment is worth it for you.
Yes, and it is often more effective that way. The most logical pairing is with a circulation treatment, such as wood therapy or pressotherapy, which work on the circulation and the comfort of the area. The order matters: the manual work comes after. Slimwave is added when the request also involves muscle tone, which is common on the abdomen. What we avoid is stacking three intense treatments on the same area in the same week.

Send us your questions and we will guide you toward the treatments that suit you best.
