The Classic protocol is the simplest of the four KB Pure treatments, and the most complete at the same time. It runs a cleanse, an exfoliation, a manual extraction and a hydration phase.
Everything is done by hand. No device, no suction, no light: the esthetician's fingers, professional products and as long as it takes. That is the difference with Hydrafacial or microdermabrasion, which do the same work by machine.
What that changes in practice: the gesture adapts as it goes. An area that resists gets two more minutes, an irritated area is left alone. A machine does what it is set to, a hand feels what it touches.
It is also the treatment you come in through. If you have never set foot in an institute, this is the one we recommend: it shows the real state of your skin, and everything else gets decided after.

INFLAMMATORY ACNE IN A FLARE
Nothing is done on a red, painful lesion. The esthetician works around it and lets the flare pass.
A RECENT SHAVING CUT
Products sting and extraction irritates. Shave the day before rather than just before coming in.

We leave the area alone while the outbreak lasts.
A KNOWN INGREDIENT ALLERGY
Say so when you book. The KB Pure range has several formulas, and there is almost always an alternative.
ISOTRETINOIN (ACCUTANE) TREATMENT
Ongoing or recent, name it when you book. The medication dries and sensitises the skin: depending on what it shows on the day and on the exfoliation planned, we adjust, we postpone, or we ask you to raise it with your physician.

Everything people ask us before a first session, answered plainly.
I have never done this. Will I look lost?
No, and it is the question men ask most when they call. There is nothing to know in advance and nothing to bring. You arrive, you take your shirt off or not as you prefer, you lie down clothed under a towel, and the esthetician explains each step as she goes. There is no vocabulary to master, no ritual, and nobody will be surprised you are there: men are a real share of the clientele here.
Should I shave beforehand?
Shave the day before rather than that morning. Freshly shaved skin is microscopically nicked, products sting more and extraction irritates it further. If you wear a beard, leave it: the esthetician works between the hairs on the areas concerned, and most of the treatment lands on the forehead, nose and upper cheeks anyway.
Is this a women's treatment?
The protocol is the same; what changes is the skin it is applied to. A man's skin is thicker, oilier on average, and attacked daily by a blade: it asks for more extraction time and fewer rich products. No treatment is gendered here, the settings are. And if the real question is about the décor, there are no candles and no relaxation music in the rooms.
Does it really take 1 h 15?
Yes, and that is the actual appointment length, not an estimate that runs over. Cleansing and exfoliation take about twenty minutes, extraction between five and twenty depending on what there is to remove, the mask around fifteen, and the rest goes to hydration and to what the esthetician explains. If your schedule is tight, say so on arrival: what gets shortened is the mask, never the extraction.
Does it show afterward?
Barely. You leave with skin that feels cleaner and passing redness where extraction worked, usually on the nose and chin. How long it lasts depends on your skin and on what the session called for. You can go straight back to the office. The one piece of advice is to skip alcohol-based aftershave that evening.
How often should I come back?
No series is compulsory. Some come back every few weeks to hold the result, others only when they feel it building up again. A single session stands on its own: it clears what has built up and gives you a survey. Plenty of men come once out of curiosity, then decide knowing what they are deciding about. Nobody will sell you a series at a first appointment.
Will this fix my blackheads for good?
No, and no treatment does. Comedones form again when sebum and dead cells build up once more, and the treatment does not change how much sebum you produce. What the session changes is the starting point, not what follows.
