Naturopathy in Laval
An hour sitting down, talking about what actually happens in your days. A support consultation on your daily habits: food, sleep, stress and energy. It is not a medical appointment.

NATURE OF THE SERVICE
Support on daily habits. No diagnosis, no treatment.
What is naturopathy
Naturopathy, as practised here, is support on daily habits.
The starting point is not a symptom to make go away, it is a picture: what a typical day looks like for you, what you have already tried, what stuck and what did not.
This appointment addresses eating habits, sleep, managing stress and energy levels.
From that picture, Laura suggests adjustments you can actually make. Not a diet, not a protocol, not a list of supplements to buy on your way out.

Is naturopathy right for you?
This appointment is about what you live day to day. Here are the situations where it makes a difference.
If you are looking for a diagnosis or treatment for a specific health problem, this is not the right appointment. We will tell you and invite you to see a doctor. Naturopathy supports, it does not treat.
You know what you would like to improve, but not where to start
You know a part of your routine no longer suits you, but you find it hard to work out where to begin.
Nothing you have tried has stuck
You have already attempted plenty on your own, and giving up left a sense of failure.
You are going through a transition
A change of job, a recent pregnancy, a move, a rhythm that has come undone.
Your rhythm has changed
A new job, a pregnancy, a move, another life transition. You want to step back with someone who helps you pick one or two realistic priorities.
What this appointment does not do
WHEN TO SEE A HEALTH PROFESSIONAL FIRST
Persistent or significant tiredness, unexplained weight change, new digestive symptoms, unusual hormonal or menstrual changes, pain or any new symptom that worries you deserve a proper assessment first. Naturopathy can then support your daily habits, but it does not serve to determine the medical cause of a symptom. If in doubt, Info-Santé 811 can point you in the right direction.
NO PRESCRIPTION AND NO CHANGE TO MEDICATION
Laura prescribes nothing and will never suggest you change what your doctor has given you. If the question comes up, it goes back to them.
NO INTERPRETATION OF MEDICAL RESULTS
If your doctor has already explained results to you or given you recommendations, you can bring that information. Laura does not reinterpret your laboratory values and does not use them to make a diagnosis.

Support adjusted to your life
Four things guide the conversation, and they influence one another. It is precisely because they form a system that they are looked at together.
- FOOD
- We look at what you eat, but also at how your meals actually fit into your day: timing, regularity, constraints and habits.
- SLEEP
- How long, how well, and above all what surrounds it: bedtime, what happens before, what wakes you.
- STRESS
- What produces it, and above all what lets it out, or does not.
- ENERGY
- At what points in the day you feel most and least available, and what is going on around those moments.
The appointment step by step
Here is how a naturopathy appointment runs at Béa.
Why choose L'Institut Béa
A CERTIFIED NATUROPATH
Laura Pasqua, founder of the institute, esthetician and naturopath. A one-year training in naturopathy at the Collège de médecine douce du Québec, member of the RITMA group under number 6797. Since naturopathy is not governed by a professional order in Quebec, her practice here is deliberately limited to supporting daily habits.
BOTH SIDES, THE SAME PERSON
At Béa, the same person carries out the esthetic consultations and the naturopathy consultations, which keeps the exchanges continuous while keeping the two roles distinct.
SUPPORT BUILT FOR YOU
We build the support around your actual day, your goals and what the first weeks show.

Their experienceat Béa
Beautiful Spa that is a one stop shop for all your beauty, body and aesthetic needs. The staff is skilled, warm and inviting and the zen decor makes you want to never leave. I have loved all of my services thus far, and I will continue to come back to discover new services.

The link with the esthetic side
Laura carries out both the esthetic consultations and the naturopathy consultations. That lets her know your overall context without blurring the roles.
For instance, if you mention that a change in your skin appeared at the same time as a change of contraception, a pregnancy or a stretch of stress, that information can be noted in the discussion. It does not, however, allow anyone to conclude the cause.
If a conversation brings up something beyond esthetics or daily habits, Laura does not try to determine the cause: she recommends you see the appropriate professional.
The esthetic consultation deals with what can be assessed and treated esthetically. Naturopathy supports your daily habits. Diagnosing a medical cause belongs to the professionals qualified to do it.
Frequently asked questions
Everything people ask us before a first session, answered plainly.
What can a naturopath do, and not do?
In Quebec, naturopathy is not a profession governed by a professional order. Someone who is not a physician, or another qualified professional, cannot make a medical diagnosis, order diagnostic tests, determine a medical treatment or change a medication. At Béa, we deliberately limit the naturopathy consultation to supporting daily habits: food, sleep, managing stress, daily rhythm, energy levels. If your situation is medical, we say so and we invite you to see a doctor.
Naturopath or dietitian-nutritionist, what is the difference?
At Béa, naturopathy is general support on your daily habits: meal rhythm, sleep, stress and how the day is organised. If your need is mainly about a health condition, a therapeutic diet or specialised nutritional care, a dietitian-nutritionist is often the right professional. The titles dietitian and nutritionist are reserved in Quebec, and that profession is governed by a professional order.
Should I bring anything to the appointment?
Nothing is required, but two things change the quality of that first hour. First, an idea of what you eat over a few days, even roughly: a short note gives a more reliable picture than trying to reconstruct everything from memory at the appointment. Second, the list of your medication and supplements, so that Laura knows the general context. She changes no treatment, and any question about a drug interaction or a health product is directed to your pharmacist or your doctor.
Do I have to change my whole diet?
No, and that is in fact the surest way to change nothing at all. A plan you cannot keep for two weeks serves no purpose, and giving up leaves a sense of failure that makes the next attempt harder. The approach here is to rank: one or two adjustments at a time, chosen for the effect they give against the constraint they impose. Often the first change is not about what is on the plate but about the rhythm. Nobody will ask you to empty your cupboards.
How many appointments should I plan for?
A single consultation makes sense if you want an outside view and suggestions to apply on your own. Follow-up mostly lets you see what was genuinely workable between appointments, and adjust what was not. Some people only need one consultation; others find it useful to come back after a few weeks. The spacing counts as much as the number; follow-up that is too close together leaves nothing to observe. Nothing commits you in advance.
Why is this appointment paid when the esthetic consultations are free?
Because it is a different thing. The institute's free consultations, face and body, are assessments beforehand: we look in order to determine what to do next, and it is the treatment that follows that is billed. The naturopathy consultation is the service itself. There is no treatment behind it and no protocol behind it: it is an hour or an hour and a half of listening, analysis and recommendations that you leave with in writing. It is also what assures you we will not steer you toward an esthetic treatment to make the hour pay.
Is there an insurance receipt?
Laura is a RITMA member under number 6797, and several insurers recognise that association, but coverage varies a great deal from one contract to another. Check your contract before your first appointment rather than after. Massage therapy, on the other hand, comes with a receipt for certain.
